Product Certification

International Product Certification and CE Marking

In international trade, various certification processes are applied to ensure that products are placed on the market in a safe, legal, and standards-compliant manner. These certificates prove that products meet the technical regulations and safety standards of the relevant country or region.

According to reports by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the most prominent certificates required in the leading export markets are:

  • European Union countries: CE marking
  • United States: UL certificate, ASME certification, ASTM or FCC certificate
  • United Kingdom: UKCA certificate
  • Middle Eastern countries: SASO certificate, G-Mark, Saudi Quality Mark, GOIEC, VoC
  • Russia and Eurasian countries: Gost-R and EAC certificate

In addition, within the Turkish domestic market, the Turkish Standards Conformity (TSE Certificate) plays an important role.

Key Stages of the Certification Process

The product certification process involves several steps to demonstrate compliance with relevant standards and regulations:

  1. Implementation of a Quality Management System – Standardization of production processes.
  2. Testing and inspections – Products are tested in accredited laboratories for safety and performance.
  3. Certification audits – Verification of product compliance with specified standards.

Once these steps are completed, products can be marketed both domestically and internationally in a safer, legally compliant, and more competitive manner.
